Information About Community Health Centers

White House Clinics are Federally Qualified Health Care Centers.

Federally Qualified Health Centers are non-profit, consumer-directed health care corporations that provide comprehensive primary and preventive health care services and either (1) receive grants under the U.S. Public Health Service Act (i.e., Community Health Centers, Migrant Health Programs, Health Care for the Homeless Programs, Health Care in Public Housing Programs, Indian Tribal Health Centers, Urban Indian Centers) or (2) do not receive federal PHSA grants, but meet the standards for funding.

White House Clinics belong to the National Association of Community Health Centers, Inc. (NACHC), a non-profit organization whose mission is to enhance and expand access to quality, community-responsive health care for America’s medically underserved and uninsured. In serving its mission, NACHC represents the nation’s network of over 1,000 Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC's) which serve 15 million people through 5,000 sites located in all of the 50 states, Puerto Rico, the District of Columbia, the U.S. Virgin Islands and Guam.
